Glenfinnan Community Council (GCC) held its monthly meeting on Wednesday May 10 over Zoom and in the Jetty Hut. Among the issues discussed were: Double yellow lines - An emergency GCC meeting was held on Saturday April 29. There was unanimous support for double yellow lines from the start to the finish of the Clearway.

SCIO report - Another paid employee is still required to work in the car park.

Glenfinnan SCIO and Trading Subsidiary have accepted an invitation to the Glenfinnan Viaduct Summit on Friday June 9.

The trustees are reviewing the activities provided at the Jetty Hut and the board is currently seeking feedback from users.

The Jetty Hut is one year old in July. Suggestion­s and volunteers for a fun day on Sunday July 23 would be welcome.

NTS Report - BEAR Scotland has been on site at the pedestrian crossing outside the NTS. SSE will connect the electricit­y, but that will not happen for another month.

Temporary pedestrian lights may be erected to enable the pedestrian crossing to function.

On Monday May 8 the NTS Mountain Path Team dug ditches all day. Apart from AG, no other volunteers turned up. A big thank you to the path team. Maintenanc­e will be required to keep the ditches draining. Volunteers could help with this.

The full NTS/Galmstrup Report is now available and has been circulated. A project manager has been assigned for six months to take forward the suggestion­s in the report by putting together a business case.

The sale of a house for staff accommodat­ion has fallen through unexpected­ly. In the meantime the staff caravans at the Glenfinnan House Hotel may be utilised.

Calendar competitio­n - Create Calendars draft calendar and pricing were agreed. An order for 250 is to be placed. Glenfinnan Games Day, Saturday August 17, 2024, is to be added to the calendar.

Date of next meeting - AGM: Wednesday June 14 in the Jetty Hut and on Zoom at 7pm followed by GCC ordinary meeting.
