A remote Lochaber venue has lifted the Best Family Dining Restaurant title at the prestigious Scottish Hospitality Awards.
Corrour Station House is part of the Corrour Estate and is only accessible via train or a very long walk.
On Tuesday May 16, four of the team of six who work at the restaurant/BnB travelled to the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Glasgow to pick up their award.
Station House manager Shona Griffiths said: “We were nominated by some customers which was nice to hear and even better when we managed to win our category. The station is bang in the middle of the famous gravel cycling route - the badger divide, which runs from Inverness to Glasgow and brings lots of hungry cyclists our way.”
The Scottish Hospitality Awards celebrate excellence in Scotland’s vibrant hospitality industry with a focus on recognising outstanding businesses and individuals.
They highlight the very best in hotels, restaurants, bars, spas, and other industry sectors, aiming to inspire excellence, foster innovation, and promote the highest standards.
Back in 2015 Corrour Estate took the venue back over to run as a café and BnB, open all day to hillwalkers and cyclists.
Since then it has become increasingly popular with the BnB now fully booked until August. The venue also played a part in the famous Trainspotting scene – it’s sh*te being Scottish!
