Mutton shod as lamb

SIR: I enjoyed Peter York (Spring issue) on dressing styles for men over sixty. I wear whatever clothes come to hand, regardless of their vintage. I have no wish to kit myself out in styles that don’t appeal or are clearly inappropriate – unlike some women of my age who, in tight jeans and T-shirts etc, enjoy clumping or clacking their way down the street in shoes that are far too young for them – and which I now hear thundering towards me to give me a good kicking!
