Green before its time

SIR: Following Nigel Andrew’s reminiscence about the Elizabethan magazine (October issue), I wonder if any Oldie readers will recall an even earlier young people’s magazine called Hutcountry?

This pocket-sized magazine of the 1940s dealt largely, as I remember, with countryside matters and, in its environmental concerns, must have been ahead of its time. I was a devotee but sadly kept no copies.
