Mary Clive (1907-2010) (p15) was a writer. Her books include Brought Up and Brought Out (1938) and Christmas with the Savages (1955). Her memories of Ian Fleming haven’t been published before.
Kate Grimond (p14) writes for the Spectator and the Economist. She is author of a biography of her mother, the actress Celia Johnson, and is a former chairman of Ian Fleming Publications.
Ivo Dawnay (p90) was Foreign Editor and Washington Bureau Chief at the Sunday Telegraph and the National Trust Communications Director. He writes about the Mayflower’s 400th anniversary.
Maureen Lipman (p19) acted at the National Theatre (1971-73) and the RSC (1973). She played Joyce Grenfell in Re: Joyce! and Beattie in the BT ads. She’s now Evelyn Plummer in Coronation Street.
