“It is ideal for anyone who cannot come and see us at our West Mainland Brewery and Visitor Centre,” says Norman Sinclair, Orkney Brewery and Bottle Shop owner.

“The Peedie Bottle Shop offers our whole range of ales, plus brewery merchandise, and gifts and souvenirs.”

The shop stocks Orkney Brewery’s excellent ales, as well as gift boxes and boxed deals, previously only available through the brewery’s online store.

The iconic names, Dark Island, Red Macgregor, Corncrake Ale, Skull Splitter and Northern Light will be known to many beer lovers across the country, and for those who have never sampled Orkney’s rich brewing heritage, the Peedie Bottle Shop is an excellent place to start.

The shop offers the chance to experience The Orkney Brewery’s award-winning beers in unique ale-tasting sessions, with knowledgeable staff on-hand to answer questions, and offer information about each product.

The shop also stocks the worldchampion strong dark ale, Dark Island Reserve, in both 750ml and 330ml gift box selections, as well as a variety of their new range of cans featuring eyecatching runic designs.

It also sells tickets for tours of the Orkney Brewery Visitor Centre.

Located in the refurbished Victorian school at Quoyloo on the west side of the Mainland, the brewery and visitor centre tours will take you through the sights, sounds and rich aromas of the brewing process, all expertly explained by your guide.

There, the tasting hall café offers fine Orkney food, which can be accompanied by a tasting paddle of the brewery’s award-winning Orkney ales.
