The Foveran team work closely with local livestock farmers, fishermen and growers to select the best seasonal produce from Orkney’s enviable larder.

Naturally, the extensive menu focuses on what Orkney does best — beef, lamb and seafood, and of course cheese — and the restaurant bakes its own bread daily, including bannocks using stoneground beremeal flour sourced locally.

Some of Orkney’s most renowned and prized produce are staples of what The Foveran offers diners — whether that be hand-dived Orkney scallops or authentic farmhouse cheese; prime fillet steak or the highly-sought-after North Ronaldsay mutton; or the truly remarkable depth and variety of choices on offer for dessert.

The Foveran chefs have a real passion for fine food, and this is shared by the rest of the kitchen team. Their philosophy is about using the elements of Orkney’s natural environment from land, soil and sea to provide a culinary experience to savour and remember — from your arrival, to the following morning’s homemade breakfast.

To complement the extensive menu, a wide range of carefully selected wines, liqueurs, local beers, gins and malt whiskies is also on offer. These can be enjoyed at your table, or in the more relaxed setting of the lounge.
