Ban bosses nicking tips
HARD-WORKING staff will get all the tips given to them by customers, Jeremy Corbyn will pledge today.
The Labour leader says he would outlaw bosses helping themselves.
He is due to appear at a food industry union conference in Southport and say: “We want 100 per cent of tips received to go to the staff and not hoarded by the employer.
“It’s not right that hardworking hospitality workers have their tips stolen by bosses. Labour will make it illegal.”
Some restaurants take a cut of tips paid on card, saying it is an admin charge.
Many pocket optional service charges added to bills and use tips to fund breakages and shortfalls.
