Abuse hell of Nadiya

The People - - NEWS FEATURES - By Karen Rockett

BAKE Off champ Nadiya Hussain has revealed: “It’s scary to be a Muslim now.”

Luton-born Nadiya, 33, added she is fed up with being told to go back “home”.

She said her three kids ask: “Mummy, do people not like Muslims?”

She added that she is abused on social media.

“I have to justify my existence all the time,” said Nadiya, who won BBC TV’S Bake Off in 2015.

“I’m a little bit of everything. I’m brown, I’m Muslim, I cover my hair.

“I claim to be British at the same time, so I get abuse from every angle.

“I’m never a good enough Muslim, not a good enough Brit, not a good enough Bangladeshi.

“Three years ago I would have taken it. Not now, I will say something.”

She said she has rejected Strictly – but is tempted by being in I’m a Celebrity.
