HUSBANDS PUSH THE LIMITS

The People - - NEWS FEATURES -

MODERN wives are more willing to “turn a blind eye” to a love rat hubby’s cheating to save their marriage, according to a depressing report. Divorce petitions submitted by women have dropped by 45 per cent in the past 25 years and a lawyer reckons it’s because wives are better at “dealing with threats”to their relationships than men. Ellen Walker, of Hall Brown Family Law, said women often live with affairs, financial problems, addictions and even domestic violence until the issues became so severe that they reach a “marital watershed.” She said: “Their partners are sometimes shocked to learn there is a limit, given the degree to which they had been forgiven before.” Like a woman who divorced her bloke only when he brought his long-term lover back to their family home. Yep, that would trouble the waters. Shame her watershed moment didn’t come a damn site sooner.
