Gin giant’s in the pink
GIN giant Gordon’s is in the pink after sales of their new brand soared.
In the last 12 months drinkers spent £75million on their pink gin, which is flavoured with berries.
It helped make Gordon’s the UK’S second-biggestselling spirit, overtaking whiskies Jack Daniel’s and The Famous Grouse.
A spokesman for booze giant Diageo, which owns Gordon’s, said: “Our innovation group said pink was going to be a big deal so we got behind it really fast. We’re delighted.”
Diageo controls the UK’S two biggest spirit brands with Smirnoff vodka in first place. Total UK sales of gin have grown by more than a third in the last year.
