LABOUR is backing the Sunday People’s campaign to get the Government to log officially the suicides of veterans.

Critics say lack of accurate figures make treatment difficult to organise.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, who will attend several events marking Remembrance Sunday, is also unveiling the party’s veterans strategy today. He said: “While many organisations do fantastic work to give mental health support, charity alone is not enough.

“The next Labour government will guarantee armed forces personnel the opportunity to have a home, to heal and to retrain.”
