Firm talks over debts

-

A SCHOOL and hospital meals firm struggling with £500million debts has been holding rescue talks.

Shares in Interserve, which employs 45,000 people in the UK, hit a 30-year low last month.

And despite a rescue deal in March the outsourcing firm, which also maintains government buildings, has continued to lose money.

Cancelled and delayed building deals have been blamed for problems.

A spokesman said the fundamentals are strong and the board “is focused on ensuring Interserve has t he r i ght f i nancial structure” for success.
