999 ban for hoax caller

A MAN in his 60s who bombarded police with at least 100 calls has been banned from dialling 999.

On one occasion he rang to say there was a strange man in his house but police found it was a repair man.

He also called to say his wife was having a heart attack but when officers arrived she was fine.

Herts Police said the man, of Borehamwood, has “been banned from calling 999 for two years, after making nearly 100 nuisance calls... this year alone”.
