Amy hunt body claim
A BODY in the sea near where Briton Amy Gerard went missing did not meet a violent end, say police.
DNA tests are expected to confirm the woman in Tenerife is Amy, an orca trainer. But an inconclusive postmortem failed to establish cause of death.
Tenerife National Police said: “The apparent circumstances that led to the death of the woman found dead in the sea earlier this week do not seem to have been brought about by a violent act.”
A police source said: “That leaves accidental death or suicide as the leading hypotheses.”
Amy, 28, of Grimsby, Lincs, who worked at a marine t heme park disappeared on November 30 after leaving a friend’s birthday party in Puerto de la Cruz. The search for her was called off after the discovery on Tuesday.
