MACHETE SAVAGERY
A JEALOUS thug attacked his partner with a machete so violently that he snapped it in half, a court heard.
Crazed Aron Condor left her with potentially fatal wounds after finding an “innocuous” text on her phone and began slashing at her head and back as she slept.
One swipe sliced into her right shoulder, exposing the muscle, and she suffered deep cuts to her scalp and fingers. Prosecutor Andrea Lock told Manchester crown court: “He hit her so badly that the blade separated from the handle and her wounds were catastrophic.”
She said the woman, then in an 18-month relationship with her attacker, at first thought she was being punched but realised she was bleeding heavily.
The victim managed to flee and alert a neighbour when Condor, 40 – who had been on a 72-hour drink and drugs binge at the time – tried to cut his own throat after the assault.
The woman, who still suffers “extreme physical discomfort”, said she fought to live because she wanted to see her sick father one last time. He has since died.
Condor, of Manchester, admitted wounding and was jailed for 12 years eight months.
