Floral guns jail threats

-

FLOWER wreaths in the shape of guns and grenades were sent to prison chiefs.

Police are investigating after the items, which included a message on a card, were discovered near a visitor centre at the jail.

Bosses at Forest Bank Prison in Salford, Greater Manchester, said the matter was being taken “extremely seriously”.

Police said a harassment inquiry is under way after “concerned” jail staff raised the alarm last Thursday.

No details were released and no arrests have been made but sources revealed there were two wreaths.

The category B prison houses about 1,500 men and is run by private firm Sodexo Justice Services.
