Counting the cost of gun number six
GUN No6 on BBC2 followed the devastating trail of Britain’s most deadly weapon.
The rare 9mm handgun has been used in 11 shootings, killing three people and injuring more, during a six-year period.
The compelling documentary followed how the illegal firearm, probably smuggled in from Eastern Europe, had been passed around gangs and killers, circulating in secret.
There was a heartbreaking interview with the parents of Craig HodsonWalker, 29, shot through the heart as he defended his family when their post office was raided.
“I saw my boy lying on the floor in a great big pool of blood,” said his dad Ken. “I went over, I touched him. I knew he was dead.”
Since the murder, in 2009, the gun has not been seen since. It was a terrifying tale
of violence.
