The Watford boss said: “It wouldn’t happen here. My players know the rules.”

Watford now use the training ground once owned by the Gunners, with only a wire fence separating them from Arsenal’s current base. Gracia said: “I try to manage my different situations with my players. But I’m sure Unai Emery can manage with their rules what they have to do.

“I have never come across this before. I accept it is not easy.

“Every day you are with 28 young players and you have different problems.”
