I THOUGHT I’d got the Alpine Klopp once, turned out it was a heat rash.

Before Mark Hughes got sacked, Southampton were 16/5 (Paddy) to be relegated. They went 3/1 with Sparky dumped, and 11/4 after Ralph Hasenhuttl (left) got the gig.

At each step, the market was rating them slightly MORE likely to go down. But after 12 bosses in 10 years, the St Mary’s chiefs just can’t help scratching that itch, can they?
