Airport fees go sky high

GREEDY airports have been ramping up car park prices for drop-offs.

Drivers at Manchester pay £3 for just five minutes. Luton charges £3 for ten – and £1 a minute after that.

Newcastle is doubling its fee to £2 for ten minutes next month. Glasgow has hiked its from £ 6 for 20 minutes to a tenner.

Simon Williams, from the RAC, said: “Airport parking fees can be eye-watering. There’s very little choice if you want to get close to the terminal building.”
