Anita: I’m too old to get skates on BUT I STILL L ANDED PART IN TORVILL & DEAN

ANITA Dobson has told how she landed a major part in new film Torvill And Dean despite being “too old” to skate.

The Eastenders legend, 69, plays Jayne Torvill’s skating coach in ITV’S

Christmas Day drama. She said: “I was very honest when I went for the audition.

“They asked, ‘ Do you skate?’ I said, ‘No absolutely not, I’m sorry’.

“Do I want to try now? No, I’m too old. I have to take care of this poor old body now, it’s falling to bits.”

Anita – whose action scenes are done by a body double – said viewers will be left sobbing by t the story of the ice dancer dancers.

The two-hour biopic charts the rise of Jayne and dance partner Christophe­r Dean from their humble beginnings in 1970s Nottingham to Olympic glory.
