Stiff price for a letter

A LETTER from Sigmund Freud about a male patient’s sex problem is expected to sell for £3,000 at an auction.

The 1909 letter was written by the father of psychoanalysis t o an impotent 28-year-old. It will be sold by International Autograph Auctions of Nottingham tomorrow.

A spokesman said: “It is interesting because of its reference to psychosexual development.”

Freud fled Vienna to escape the Nazis and died aged 83 in London in 1939.
