Frozen out by Deirdre
STORM Deirdre put the UK in the grip of Arctic conditions yesterday as freezing rain and snow swept the North.
The Met Office issued a “risk to life” warning as Scotland suffered blizzards, and exposed roads in Cumbria were closed by ice.
Met Office forecaster Simon Partridge said: “If you’re not under a snow and ice warning you’re probably under a wind and rain warning.”
Conditions were forecast to get milder from today.
