THE idea that Anthony Joshua’s team have been begging Deontay Wilder to choose their man ahead of a rematch with Tyson Fury is a nonsense.
Boxing fans understand Wilder and Fury need to settle matters first, providing the victorious fighter faces Joshua (above) in a winner-takes-all battle around this time next year.
In the meantime, Joshua and his promoter Eddie Hearn can add a few more zeroes to their bank accounts with a keep-warm fight at Wembley Stadium on April 13.
And they can do so without any background noise suggesting they are ducking Wilder.
It’s win-win for AJ and his team.
