Vote to ban sick charge
RIP-OFF hospital parking charges could be scrapped after fresh calls from MPS.
Nearly half of NHS trusts raised parking fees last year with £226million paid out.
Tory Peter Bone is fronting a bill to ban them and make hospitals exempt from business rates to claw back some cash.
It is due to be debated on January 25.
He said: “If you are visiting a relative who has cancer or another illness, hospital parking should be free. It’s just not right.”
The fees are already axed in Wales and Scotland.
