COACH’S VICTIMS COULD TOP 100

-

BENNELL is feared to have preyed on at least 100 boys across two decades.

He was first held on a tour of the US with a Staffordshire youth team after a 13-year-old made a complaint.

He admitted six counts of sexual battery and lewd and lascivious behaviour and got four years.

It prompted more to come forward and a probe was launched in the UK.

He was arrested upon his return after release from a Florida jail and admitted 23 offences in a 1998 case. Bennell admitted there were more victims in a jail interview the same year. He was freed in 2004 and got two years in 2015 for attacking David Lean. The wider sex abuse scandal in football blew up the next year and former

Sheffield United star Andy

Woodward went public on his own ordeal.

Last year Bennell got 30 years for 50 child sex offences. Police are probing further abuse claims.
