Big chill is on its way

DIG out your winter coats – Britain is up for a freeze.

Temperatures are set to plunge next week before turning truly wintry.

Today will be mild, with highs of 9C as the country continues to dodge snow storms hitting Europe.

By the end of the month we are due a blast with the chance of another Beast from the East.

A Met Office spokesman said: “From January 21 there’s a stronger signal of it getting colder. That increases the snow risk.”
