Rail union in strike 44

-

RAIL staff have staged a 44th strike in their battle to keep guards on trains.

RMT union members at Northern yesterday mounted picket lines at stations and leaders said the strike was “solidly supported”.

Passengers were warned any services would be busy.

The RMT said that Northern’s subsidies and fares would “easily fund” a guards guarantee.

Leader Mick Cash said: “The company refuse to get out of their bunker and enter serious talks.”
