Over-40s to get booster

-

OVER-40S will be allowed to book booster jabs from tomorrow, with ministers urging those eligible to get it done before Christmas.

The National Booking Service will open up for people aged 40-49 to get their third dose of vaccine, and for 16 to 17-year-olds for their second dose.

Around 15 million boosters have so far been administered in the UK. Vaccines give high levels of protection but immunity reduces over time.

Health Secretary Sajid

Javid said: “Getting your Covid-19 booster vaccine is the best way to keep yourself and your loved ones safe this winter and will help reduce the pressure on the NHS.

“Please get your vaccines as soon as you can so we can keep the virus at bay.”
