Shop cops blitz fakes

POLICE have seized a huge haul of fake designer gear and illegal items.

More than 17,500 items were taken from four shops in London’s Oxford Street including unsafe toys, fake clothing and wronglylabelled nicotine products.

An unregistered food business had 4,000 items removed. Two bags of food with excessive THC – the main psychoactive compound in cannabis – were also confiscated.

Westminster Council’s Heather Acton said: “The quantity and variety seized is astonishing.

“Many goods are unsafe and certainly unhealthy. It’s vital to protect customers.”
