Holiday-lie carer axed

A CARE worker who said she needed to self-isolate but then flew to Spain on holiday has been struck off.

A disciplinary panel was told Alisha Masters, 24, lied about having contact with someone who had Covid-19.

And it heard that four months earlier, in May 2020, she had broken lockdown by partying with pals.

Masters, of Rhondda, South Wales, admitted breaking rules and said it was her “biggest mistake”.

The panel ruled her fitness to practise impaired due to serious misconduct and struck her off the social care register, saying: “This was repeated misconduct rather than a one-off.”
