Meghan goes to market... and makes millions cringe

WHAT the heck was the Duchess of Sussex thinking when she agreed to do the Ellen Degeneres show?

A chance to flog her children’s book, obvs, and to share heartwarming personal details about Archie and Lili, the kids she and Harry are shielding from public attention.

But loveable Ellen (recently hit by bullying allegations) was also the ideal person to draw out Meghan’s “goofy side” and show how funny and cool she is – by getting her to play an Ant and Dec-style game in an LA market. This involved Ellen telling the Duchess what to say and do via an earpiece, i.e. making cat noises, eating like a chipmunk, sucking milk from a baby’s bottle and telling a sauce salesman: “Mommy wants some heat.”

It was bumclenchingly awful and made Meghan look like a desperate wannabe starlet rather than a no longer wannabe royal. I’m sure she loved it though.

And I bet that skit got her thinking...

Perhaps the ear-piece trick would work when she lets Harry out?
