Dry eyes in winter

-

“We know cold air, wind and sunlight are factors that can influence our eye health,” says optometrist Francesca Marchetti, for Rohto Dry Aid.

“So even though it’s getting colder, get your sunglasses out. Wearing them can protect eyes from the sun’s glare which can cause tears to evaporate – as well as shielding them from the drying wind.” Central heating can exacerbate the problem in winter. “It depletes air moisture, so avoid sitting too close to radiators. And when in a car, avoid having the heating vents blowing hot air at your face,” adds Francesca.
