Caribbean cookery queen Shivi Ramoutar, pictured, will be dishing up tropical delights on P&O’S newest ship.

The Trinidad-born TV chef will join Spain’s José Pizarro and Norwegian Kjartan Skjelde as a Local Food Hero on board 184,700 gross tonnage Arvia when she joins the fleet in December 2022. Shivi, who stars on ITV’S Martin and Roman’s Weekend Best, will showcase her vibrant

Caribbean cooking on the 5,200-passenger ship – currently under construction in Germany – for her maiden season from homeport Barbados.

Shivi said, ‘’I hope to make the dining experience on Arvia as much about limin’ [the Caribbean way of chilling out] as it is about the food.”

Clean fuel liquefied natural gas-powered Arvia will offer 14-night Caribbean fly/cruise itineraries from January to March 2023 and October 2023 to March 2024, with prices from £2,099 per person.

P&O president Paul Ludlow added: “Shivi’s passion, bold flavour, colourful ingredients and joyful style will bring traditional Caribbean food to our guests.’’
