City won’t be lending Xavi their Sterling

- Simon Mullock

MANCHESTER CITY will not let Raheem Sterling join Barcelona on loan.

And the Premier League champions will also refuse to listen to any cash offers for the England forward until the summer – unless they can bring in a replacement.

New Barca boss Xavi wants to take Sterling to the Nou Camp in the New Year.

But the cash-strapped Catalan club want to sign the 26-year-old on loan – and would currently be unable to pay his £300,000-a-week wages due to financial restrictions placed on them by La Liga.

The Spanish giants are looking to offload several players to raise money in January.

But City will not weaken Pep
