The People's Friend Special - - FICTION - Ewan Smith.

I’m not a nervous person; I’d say I’m hard to scare,

I don’t feel worried when I sit down in the dentist’s chair.

Thunder doesn’t bother me, I’m not scared of the dark,

To me abseiling’s fun and bungee-jumping is a lark.

Horror films don’t chill me, or roller-coaster rides,

I love being in hot-air balloons and giant water slides.

But suddenly all that has changed, my mind is gripped with dread, I’m shaking like a leaf. “Help! There’s a spider on the bed!”
