The world’s largest floating Christmas tree sits on the calm waters of the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas. At full height it’s about 85 metres, and the star on the top alone weighs two tons. Around 75 miles of lights are used to decorate it, all of which run on biodiesel generators, and after the lighting ceremony each year it floats around the lake until January 6.
