Rockefeller Plaza, New York

The People's Friend Special - - HERITAGE 29 -

There’s been a tree on the plaza since the days of the Great Depression, when construction workers collected their pay underneath it after labouring on the high rises. More than half a million people pass it every day, and once the holiday season is over the tree is brought down and milled to be used in building homes by charity Habitat for Humanity.
