Keeping hens as pets

Chickens are the sixth-most-popular pet in the UK and the British Hen Welfare Trust is at the forefront of the growing trend to keep chickens as pets. Since 2005, the trust has rehomed over 560,000 ex-battery hens as family pets. Jane Howorth MBE is the charity’s founder.
