Gardener’s Friend
Ladybird, ladybird, where are you?
There are jobs in the garden for you to do. Plenty of aphids to catch and eat;
My rose stem is full, a veritable feast.
Ladybird, ladybird, please come to stay:
Your bright red-hued shell brightens each day. Ladybird, ladybird, are you hiding from sight? I need your help to keep my patch bright.
Oh, there you are; I am thrilled you are here. The smile on my face is a silent cheer. Ladybird, ladybird, my hope is revived – Watch out, aphids, your time has arrived.
Angie Keeler.
