Daisy Greville, Countess of Warwick, was an early and enthusiastic adopter of cycling who often changed the colour of her bike to match her dresses. A magazine at the time reported that she had “caught that rabid disease commonly known as cyclomania”, even shunning her beloved horses in favour of a bike ride.
