General Hospital
Lynda Bellingham, famous for being a gravy-loving mum in the long-running OXO ads, was one of the stars of “General Hospital”, shown on ITV between 1972 and 1979.
Much of the drama centred around the professional struggles of the medical staff, and one storyline focused on the romantic relationship between a patient and Dr Neville Bywaters, played by Tony Adams (later of “Crossroads” fame).
Tragically, the woman died, but actress Jill Gascoine turned up again a few episodes later — as the deceased’s twin sister!
