Play time for Toffee

-

After the excitement and concentration of the Regional Qualifiers, Toffee earned himself some serious rest and relaxation. We caught up with him back at Cotswold RDA to find out what he got up to when he arrived home.

“When we get back after a competition we have to make doubly sure that the ponies are OK after the journey,” his groom, Lou, explains. “They can get tired from the movement of the lorry, and we’ll always make sure they have enough water. We wrap their tails and legs for the journey, so the wraps are taken off and if necessary we give them a nice hose down.”

After that, it’s play time. Toffee wasted no time in celebrating being back on the yard. It only took one roll on the ground to ruin all of Lou’s hard work from earlier in the day.

Here he is looking very undignified – and almost unrecognisable from the pristine pony who entered the showground only hours before.

Since then, he has been for a bit of a holiday with his family, and now he’s back causing mischief at Cotswold – still disappearing off into whichever field he fancies.
