The Story So Far

LAURA BENNETT, publicity manager for a prestigious publishing house, has been forced to travel to Australia to co-ordinate a book tour for PERRY FLOYD, a popular but odious author who previously made an unwelcome advance towards her after a party.

Laura is still not over her split from former boyfriend OLIVER EVESHAM, whose work as a war correspondent came between them. Oliver reappears in her life and attempts to rekindle their relationship, with little success.

He then receives an urgent phone call from his stepsister informing him that his stepfather, WILLIAM COLLINGSWOOD, the owner of the publishing house, is gravely ill.

He agrees to return to Australia to be with his family.

Laura settles in for her long trip, and is surprised to see Oliver in the seat opposite . . .
