The People's Friend

Yellow roses

-

Dundee marmalade,

Dundee cake and

Scotch whisky are for ever linked with the place that gave the world the

“Friend”. Our present and future are reflected in the yellow rose. In the early days of the study of the meaning of flowers, yellow roses were exchanged as a contrast to the red rose. Sometimes they meant friendly affection, though some sources give the flower a negative meaning, such as rejection. As time went on, the cheery yellow rose came to signify joy and friendship – a perfect symbol for the “Friend”!
