Something we didn’t know last week...

The oldest surviving tea clipper in the world, the Cutty Sark, was launched in November 1869, the same year the “Friend” was launched! The clipper’s maiden voyage took it from Dumbarton in Scotland all the way to Shanghai. Its mission was to return with fine China tea. The Cutty Sark now thrives as an award-winning attraction with a whopping 250,000 visitors a year, and you can even have afternoon tea there.
