A Vintage Year
This is a picture of me as a child, alongside my father, Dr Ernest Marsh.
He was born in March 1869, just when “The People’s Friend” was first being issued, so your 150th anniversary is special to me, too.
Dad was a widower when he married my mother, who was 40 years younger, and they had seven happy years together. I was born in 1946 when he was seventyseven, and he died in 1952. The year 1869 was definitely a vintage one!
