Roshni Kanabar, Clinical & Regulatory Advisor for the Association of Optometrists, is here to help.
Glare and dazzle is a challenge experienced by all drivers. It’s caused by low-lying sun or headlights but can also be experienced on sunny days.
Glare creates problems for drivers and could be behind your watery eyes.
If this impacts your ability to drive it’s important to find a solution that works for you, such as sunglasses.
Watery eyes can also be a symptom of dry eye. There are lots of options to help with visual problems reported by drivers so speak to your optometrist.
They will be able to provide advice around the right lenses, make sure your prescription is up to date and offer advice on treatments for dry eye if they find this is the case.
