Health Bite
There are concerns that ultra-processed breakfast cereals (which contain highly processed ingredients plus sugar and salt) could be contributing to the national obesity problem, so it is a good idea to switch to simple one-ingredient cereals, such as puffed wheat, puffed oats or Shredded Wheat, which is made from wholegrain wheat (husk included).
The switch could positively benefit your health because a new study from Tufts University in the USA suggests middle to older aged adults who eat three servings of wholegrains a day have smaller waist sizes, lower blood pressure and blood sugar levels and a lower risk of heart disease than those who eat one serving a day.
